This is how my balcony looks like after 3 months plus of growing.
It looks like an unruly jungle from the pictures but compared to how empty my balcony was 3 months ago, I am not complaining.
My mom has plans to grow the snake beans again at the smaller balcony that’s at the back of the kitchen and I thought about growing some climbing foliage plant (fantastic if it flowers as well) up and along the pipe at the left of the balcony.
It’s still a long way from my dream balcony filled with lush greens but I’m learning and we’ll get there bit by bit.

You are a bit hilarious, the way you care so much for tiny shreds of ephemera. Your wit gave me the best laugh of my day today, and the whole blog makes me like humans a bit more.
I hope you get some good ideas from my blog too

Right now your balcony looks better than my terrace. Half of my starts DIED while I was away!! The weather was predicted to be rainy, so I left them out in partial sun/shelter. Wouldn’t you know, the weather man was wrong and it was hot and sunny most of the time. I’ll be lucky if I can get any tomato plants out of the survivors, and my one wing bean plant looks like it’s ready to say sayonara. Only confirms the fact that I’m a bad gardener and will have to buy starts from the nursery.

Hi,
My wife and I, too, have started growing on our “balcony” (actually an outdoor windowsill… we call them Cheung Toi in HK, but usually they are indoors) and came across your blog while researching how to pollinate cherry tomatos. I just though’t I’d leave a comment, as I’m so glad to see a fellow urban gardener so close to Hong Kong.
