Here’s how you cook just one snake bean:
Step 1: You get your mom to cut it up while she’s very amused that you have to take pictures of the whole process
Step 2: Stir fry with anchovies and egg
Step 3: Serve. Portion enough for 3 mouthfuls.
Pathetic recipe aside, my verdict is that home-grown vegetables is still the BEST!
Simply because I watered, watched and waited for it. Full stop.

That looks terrific: well done!!
Actually quite a lot from just one bean. Any siblings yet?
Going to keep hens now, are you?
You know what? I actually looked at vegetable plants when I was going beserk with plant buying this morning. Looked. Not bought. Not yet. But I’m considering it.
I grow reams of raspberries with a modicum of succes. Rhubarb is easy. Don’t you try it. It will take over the premises. Leek I have done and ought to do again, and your bean looks good. I wonder what the equivalent is for our climate.

Congrats on eating the food of your labours! I’m hoping the excitement of “growing your own” will inspire my child to eat fresh vegetables. I find it wonderful to eat them myself, that’s for sure.

Hmmm. I was reading the comments there. I wonder how many people have tried rhubarb in a pot? I’ve never seen that before!

Woohoo! Soon it’ll be my turn to make something of the sort (love anchovies with egg, with anything!).

Anchovies with egg and bean(s) sounds great! I’m going to have to try that – although sadly I don’t have any beans yet. Very different climate too…*sigh* patience is required, I guess.
Congrats to you on eating your bean!

Hi Joco! Sorry was caught up with things recently. Missed blogging and I’m back now! Hehehe, you so funny. Imagine hens in my balcony pecking away. Hehehe. Gotta check up on rhubard. It’s not common at all in this part of my world I think. Oooo, I want raspberries too. But I think my hot climate here is not suitable for it. Sigh.
Hi Kristi! Thanks!
Hi Anonymous! Yes, I think it’s great to grow your own vegetables so that your kid will come to appreciate them even more and I believe it grows an appreciation for Earth too and what it has given us.
Hi Rowena! Eating anything home-grown yet?

Hi Kate! Hehehe, you’ve said it right! And I hope to bean seen more! Hehehe.
